LeConte Elementary School - Facilities

Summary

LeConte Elementary School was constructed in 1951 and is comprised of two buildings: the main building, a two story reinforced concrete building with a partial basement, and a double-wide portable building.

Construction Projects

Completed work includes two major modernization projects, a grounds project, carpeting in the classrooms and a few other minor projects. We plan to replace the roof, paint and replace floor coverings.

Detailed Scope of Work

Completed Work

Projects comopleted to date include:

  • Replacing the breezewa
  • Removal of hazardous materials
  • Painting the entire exterior of the sechool and selective reglazing of windows
  • A new fire alarm system and all new lighting (except the multipurpose rooms)
  • A new boiler, new heating distribution pipes and new unit ventilators
  • A new energy management system
  • Replacement of the main electrical switchgear and subpanels
  • A new intercom and data wiring
  • New clocks and bells
  • New vinyl tile in the classrooms and office areas and new carpeting in the classrooms
  • Interior corridor painting and installation of some window film for seismic safety
  • Radon mitigation work
  • Stage resurfacing, minor cabnetry work, some restroom and roofing work
  • Improvement of the grounds
  • Installing new receptacles and new lights in the multipurpose and basement areas
  • Overhaul of the forced air units in the auditorium and cafeteria
  • Overhaul of the water heaters and modification of the combustion air supply
  • A new concrete slab in the cafeteria including modification to some of the utility lines
  • New floor coverings in the cafeteria and the auditorium
  • Improving the kindergarten yard and the entries
  • Adding a new library space
  • Creating a new main office
  • Replacing the roof
Most of the improvements listed above were designed by Baker/Vilar Architechs or Davis and Joyce Architechs.
