District Employee Open Enrollment
It is that time of year again! The Employee Benefits Open Enrollment period is upon us. From Monday, August 16th, through 5pm on Friday, September 10th, benefits eligible employees are free to add, modify or drop available medical, dental and vision coverages available through the District.
PDF versions of this year's Open Enrollment materials (click here)are broken down into three categories: (1) actively working employees, (2) former employees who are still participating through a valid COBRA election, and (3) retirees.
As these guides explain, the costs of most of our plans have again risen unavoidably, though we have made every effort to keep those costs in check.
The fourth document is an Excel spreadsheet containing premiums, employee/participant contribution amounts, and District contribution levels - broken down by bargaining unit and work year for deduction purposes.
These materials (including a universal enrollment form) are being sent to the home address on file for all benefits eligible individuals this week (the week of August 16th), though delays at the printer may mean that some folks won't receive them until Friday or Saturday (August 20th or 21st.)
PLEASE NOTE: It is not necessary to wait for receipt of your packet to make any necessary changes. The Benefits Office can assist you with these electronic versions of the materials.
As always, if you have any questions about this process (or benefits in general), please call us at:
(510) 644-6666
benefits@berkeley.k12.ca.us
And for those who can make it, we look forward to seeing you at:
